DR. SARA JORDAN

Lab Director

Dr. Sara S. Jordan is a Professor and Director of the School of Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM). She is affiliated with the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Program and is a licensed psychologist who specializes in clinical child and pediatric psychology. She earned master’s degrees at Eastern Michigan University (1998) and Louisiana State University (2001), her doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Child track) at Louisiana State University (2003), and completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Since 2003, Dr. Jordan has served on the faculty at USM and has been heavily involved in graduate training, previously serving as Director of Clinical Training, Associate Director of Clinical Training, Child Clinical Training Coordinator and Clinical Externship Coordinator prior to her appointment as Interim School Director in 2019 and School Director in 2020. Dr. Jordan enjoys teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in the areas of child psychology, child psychopathology, and child behavior and she regularly supervises graduate student clinicians in the USM Behavioral Health Clinic. Dr. Jordan directs the Child Routines and Behavior Lab and her program of research focuses on measurement of child routines and understanding the role of child routines in relation to parenting practices and child externalizing behavior.

MADDISON KNOTT

Fifth Year Graduate Student

​Maddison Knott joined the Child Routines and Behaviors lab in Fall 2021 as a Clinical Psychology Doctoral student. Maddison graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in December 2020 with her B.S. in Psychology. She is currently at Indiana University School of Medicine completing her doctoral internship. Maddison’s primary research interests broadly focus on the effects of intergenerational adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on familial functioning and child behavior. Maddison is currently working on her dissertation which examines the relations between maternal adverse childhood experiences, difficulty in emotion regulation, parenting, and child behaviors. When Maddison is not working, she enjoys cooking, exploring new coffee shops, and shopping.

ARIANNA DELGADILLO

Fourth Year Graduate Student

Arianna earned her B.S. in Psychology at Colorado State University and joined the Child Routines and Behavior Lab in August 2022. Her research interests involve understanding the contextual factors that impact child behavior and family well-being, particularly among economically disadvantaged and underrepresented groups. For her thesis, she extended the family stress model by studying routines as a potential link between economic hardship and child externalizing behavior in a Head Start sample. She loves her pets, seafood, and reality TV.

KAROLINE CALONGNE

First Year Graduate Student

Karoline Calongne joined the Child Routines and Behaviors Lab in Fall 2025 as a Clinical Psychology Doctoral student. She earned her M.A. in Psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University and her B.S. in Psychology from Louisiana State University. Karoline’s research interests focus on externalizing behaviors in children and adolescents, with an emphasis on how daily routines, family dynamics, and interparental conflict influence behavioral outcomes. She is particularly interested in how children perceive caregiver relationships and how those perceptions relate to adjustment and conflict resolution. Karoline is passionate about developing interventions that support child well-being through consistent routines and healthy family functioning.

CAYDEN CROSS

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Cayden Cross is a junior psychology major at USM from Brandon, MS. Cayden joined the Child Routines and Behavior Lab in Fall 2024. She is interested in the connection between parenting styles and child interactions and behaviors. She hopes to use the skills and knowledge she has gained from her position in her future goal of becoming a child psychologist.

LAUREN RUNNELS

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Lauren is an undergraduate research assistant and undergraduate liaison with the YSURB/CRB lab, where she has been helping collect and organize data for two years. She is going into her senior year at the University of Southern Mississippi and majors in psychology and minors in child advocacy studies. Following her graduation from Southern Miss, Lauren plans to pursue a graduate degree in clinical psychology.

PARIS LABADIE

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Paris is rising senior studying Psychology and CAST at The University of Southern Mississippi. She has been a research assistant for two years, with her start being with the CRB Lab. She is also an honors student studying the effects of externalizing behaviors on adolescents in a juvenile boot camp setting for her thesis. She hopes to eventually attend graduate school for clinical psychology specializing in adolescents.
